Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

We tried the Garlic Knot for the second time and were pleased to know that over the past year not much has changed. The pizza we ordered (can't remember the name) had white sauce with garlic, broccoli, and chicken was full of flavor and cooked perfectly. You could tell that some of the waitresses were fairly new but there was also excellent communication between the managerial staff and those waitresses to steer them in the right direction. Our waitress was pleasant and attentive and we were never left wishing she would return to fill our drinks. The garlic knots with melted cheese on top were awesome just like they were the last time. The owner of the restaurant made a point to go around and talk with everyone to make sure they were happy with their meals. We were very happy with the food and service we received from the Garlic Knot in Fort Collins. We will come back again. On a side note - Don't let the 3/5 star rating fool you, this place seems more like it should deserve a 4 star out of 5 average if not just a little higher.

We were hanging out and decided instead of going out for dinner we'd order in, and this was the closes pizza place to the house. We ordered 3 pizza and wings. It was good! We had an xl pep. sausage, and mushrooms and then the 14th street one or whatever it's called. That one was really good on thin crust, the kids had cheese pizza and the bbq and med. wings were excellent! We also ordered cinnaKnots and its as just okay.

I love this place, particularly the veggie calzone. I've eaten here a few times and was surprised with the low reviews. THEN...I had takeout of the veggie calzone. Yuck, it was completely soggy. I think the problem is that there is a specific problem with takeout. I'm guessing when my calzone came out of the oven, they immediately wrapped it in aluminum foil, thus trapping all the steam and turning the formerly crisp dough into mush. I'll eat here again but not takeout until they realize that trapped piping hot steam equals mush.
(5)Joe M.
Not that impressed. It was good but not for the price I paid. The crust was soggy and all the toppings fell off every time I picked one up.
(3)Aaron F.
Great Crust, pretty girls, what more can a pathetic middle aged man ask for on a Friday night. I ordered the small with light cheese and it actually reminded me of NY Style Pizza - I was quite impressed with the pie.
(4)Anne R.
Better than expected! Definitely would order again!

The sauce is excellent and so is the crust, however everything else is bland and under seasoned. It's unfortunate because their garlic knots themselves good, but have proved to be inconsistent. I first had the cheesy garlic knots which were incredible, which caused me to try them again despite the flavorless and canned toppings on their pizza. Unfortunately when I had the standard garlic knots on my second attempt I was very underwhelmed and the white pizza was completely flat flavor wise. I will say that most likely a standard red sauce cheese pizza is probably excellent, however there is a lot of room for improvement, especially to people who enjoy bold flavors.

We had a potentially frustrating experience turned into an extremely positive one due to the incredible customer service of Matt at Garlic Knot. We ordered a couple Garlic Knot pizzas through Grubhub's website at around 6pm. We finally called the restaurant as it was getting close to 8pm and we still hadn't received our food. Turns out Grubhub had gone down and the order didn't get sent to Garlic Knot until an hour and a half after we submitted it. Garlic Knot was slammed on a Saturday night (with a Broncos game) and could have easily blamed it on the 3rd party website and gone on about their business....instead, Matt moved our order to the top of the stack and rushed the delivery so we had two hot pizzas at our door within about 20 minutes from when we hung up the phone. On top of that, he continued to follow up with Grubhub (their phones and online chat were down) until the next day when he could finally get through and they agreed to refund our purchase. The pizza was hot and tasty, and I haven't experienced customer service like that in a long time. A big thank you to Matt and the Garlic Knot crew...highly recommended!

We enjoyed the new york style pizza - because it was very similar to the same kind of pizza that we feel in love with from the east coast and a new york style pizza place in the midwest. The pizza was flavorful, the crust was done right, ingredients were fresh. We ordered the Neapolitan twice with sausage and green pepper. We have ordered the garlic knots, and despite the name of the restaurant, they were tough and not flavorful like we expected. (Please don't let this dissuade you from eating the pizza!) We received the the orders via delivery twice now: delivery was fast and food showed up hot.
(4)Nicole T.
Not too bad but ive had better. Knots are greasy and way dry. Pizza is ok but over priced for what you get. Delivery was slow but they were nice when i called about it.
(3)Dan P.
I tried Garlic Knot for the first time, and I was somewhat underwhelmed. I am from outside NYC originally, and this is not the New York style pizza I am used to. The pizza didn't have a great taste in my opinion (sauce perhaps?), and the crust was pretty soft. Overall, not sure I will try them again.
(2)Amanda B.
Meh.... Called in, got very excited because they have gluten free pizza and garlic bread. Service was good. Delivery was quick, but pizza and bread was soggy. Cheese had slid to one half of the pizza. Also, the price was super high for the quality. I ordered on Oct 14th. Not sure on the time. I also responded to the question from the company and did not get a response.

I was completely blown away by the excellent service from staff and the quality of food we received. My girlfriend and I had just had a bad experience at a restaurant close by, and walked out of that place and I suggested we go to Garlic Knot around the corner. My girlfriend hadn't been there before, but I had, so they accommodated us just like it was our first time. Our server, Dani, was busy finishing up with a very large party and was delayed getting to us, totally understandable as I've been a server before, but another staff member promptly came to our table to notify us and back her up by taking our order. Excellent teamwork! We were given free garlic knots as "first timers" and a very generous portion of delectable marinara sauce. Our 5 Borough pizza came out with artichokes instead of anchovies, like we ordered, albeit with all the remaining toppings correct. Once again Dani shined by having the kitchen immediately get us a side of anchovies and even take the time to warm them up. She literally stopped in the middle of cleaning the overwhelming mess of a table from her large party to accommodate us straight away. That's service excellence! Leaving with a full belly, leftovers, excellent service and a much improved end to what started out as a miserable night out made all the difference. I would recommend the Garlic Knot to everyone I know.

They messed up my order-but were super friendly & efficient on service!!!! Will be back.
(2)Brianna M.
I will never eat here again. The service is terrible and my order has been forgotten every time I've gone there for lunch. 3rd time is not a charm, my order was forgotten again...1 slice of pepperoni pizza. Had I not been in my work uniform, I would've made a scene. I will never give this place business. The pizza isn't worth waiting for.
(1)Ramz S.
I should thank this place for being so flexible and accommodating to the customers. I called almost at closing time for a delivery and that too on New Year's Eve. They were prompt with the delivery and the food was also hot. The food tasted good too since I was not sure what to expect based on the reviews.
(4)Aaron H.
The atmosphere is nice. The garlic knots are my favorite appetizer and the red sauce is homemade and flavorful.
(5)Laura W.
I doubt I'll ever go back to Garlic Knot. I eat gluten free and I've gotten Pablo's but it just seems far away so I figured I'd try the Garlic Knot. The pizza wasn't bad, but I was charged 34 DOLLARS FOR ONE PIZZA. I got a large gluten free pizza with 5 toppings (because apparently they don't do their 'regular' pizzas on a GF crust for an upcharge like most places do). I stupidly signed and didn't get a copy of my receipt and didn't realize until I checked my bank account. UGH. Needless to say, unless there was some big mix-up and I receive a reimbursement, I will never return to the Garlic Knot!
(1)Jim W.
Good stuff. Got the lunch special which was a slice and 5 knots as well as a drink for only $5. It hit the spot. Tasty, friendly and fast.
(4)Clayton G.
Let's start with the service: the staff was warm and friendly. The owner clearly took great pride in his place. The restaurant was clean, well-lit, and tastefully decorated with pictures of various New York landmarks. Matt and Julia were both engaging and happy to meet me. I ordered 2 calzones and a kids pizza. I had about a 10-15 minute wait before they had my food ready, which brings us to our next topic. The food: I got home and the family dug in, the calzones are HUGE. The garlic knots are decently sized. I specifically asked to go light on the garlic based in other reviewed suggestions here. I'm glad I did. The knots had just the right amount of flavor. You can taste the garlic, but are not over powered by it. The calzones were fantastic. The cheese and pepperoni were front and center, just the way I like it. This place may have had it's problems when it opened, but they are clearly hitting their stride. Matt, keep hiring people like Julia and making food that tastes like this, and you'll have one more life-long customer.
(5)Steve K.
Went in for a quick slice with my 4 year old twins...atmosphere & service was nice. I was a little confused when I got check & put my credit card in the slot in the black check holder, but waitress did not come by...just paid at front...not sure if this is how it's supposed to go, but if so they should tell people so we aren't just sitting & waiting for waitress to come by. I will come back though as garlic knots were very good (dipping sauce was a bit watery though). Funny how I've read some reviews that said knots had too much garlic, yet another where they seemed not to have any garlic! I thought they were perfect! Pizza crust was tasty & thin. Cheese a bit sparse.

New Yorkers - Beware! When it comes to pizza, I'm just a picky Italian from NJ. And I have to warn others like me, there is no way this is even close to a NY pizza. I rarely eat pizza due to a dairy intolerance but after a long day of a yard sale, pizza and a beer sounded great. My boyfriend saw a review that said it was very close to NY style, so we decided to try it. At first glance there was an immediate clue - it was square. Not a good sign. Then the sauce and cheese were practically segregated. One of the beautiful things about NY pizza is how the delicious sauce soaks into the crust. Nothing about this was beautiful. There were chunks of, not the best, cheese and the globs of possibly jarred sauce overlapping just around the boundary lines of each. Top that off with a bland, pasty crust and it was truly disappointing. My boyfriend thought it was edible, but he's from Chicago. His one flaw is his ill-informed taste in pizza. It may be great for the average pizza eater but for Italians from NY/NJ, don't bother.

I went to the Garlic Knot not being too terribly hungry and saw on their menu that they had noodles in oil with garlic. It sounded noncommittal and right up my alley at the time. The noodles seemed kind of tasteless except for the garlic but going off of previous experience noodles often don't taste like much of anything unless you get some other ingredients in there but judging off of these other reviews on here maybe the pizza would be like that here too, just sayin'. The actual garlic knots were decent and I didn't really have any complaints about them.
(3)William A.
Well, it is a nice thin NY style slice that is foldable, though a little greasy and salty. Pepperoni was flavorless, crust was dry and crunchy.
(2)Rob S.
The Garlic Knot here in the most awesomeness town of Fort Collins deserves a 5 star review hands down! The pizza shops in Fort Collins will have competition with the Garlic Knot Pizza and Pasta for sure. I'm not an elaborate reviewer, I am just a pizza guy that loves pizza. Ok, my wife says that if it were up to me, we would have pizza every night. The food is very tasty. It is like sipping a great craft beer, ok wine too, and experiencing all the great flavors in your mouth. Myself and my 5 year old could eat their garlic knots all day. He kept asking for more, LOL. The atmosphere is cozy, warm and has that special neighborhood pizza feel. The staff is very friendly and they go out of their way to make you feel right at home. The Garlic Knot is a great place to bring your kids and staff will cater to the little people on the menu. Love the very local feel. I definitely recommend that you try out The Garlic Knot Pizza and Pasta. "I LOVE PIZZA!"
(5)Marie H.
Really good gluten free pizza! Personally, I don't remember what gluten tastes like but my mom said it actually tastes like "real pizza". That's a good sign.
(5)Christopher T.
The Garlic knot rocks! I have no idea why it has a 2 star rating. Seriously, it does not surprise me they won the award of Northern Colorado's best pizza at this year's pie fight. I come here often since it is very tasty and they have a great lunch special. They also carry a few local brews on tap. Now who wouldn't appreciate akl that?
(5)Julie R.
This place is great! We live nearby, so we end up walking or cycling over and eating here at least once a month. We usually get garlic knots and pizza--all different ones, from all veggie to lots of meat--they're all great. The pizza crust is the best in town, not too thick and not too thin. It's a very family friendly place, so there can be lots of kids running around, especially on kids-eat-free night (Tuesday I think). Wednesday is wine happy hour all night, which is fun. Service is almost always great, just a bit slow on really busy nights--but everyone is always friendly. I don't know where the negative reviews come from. I've eaten pizza from California to New York and this is one of my top five pizza places.
(5)Mansi S.
Tried them because of the living social deal. Place was empty during lunch time. Ordered a veggie pizza and some garlic knots. Seems like they must have gotten bad reviews on the garlic knots..because we couldn't taste any garlic :( We love pizza and theirs was decent. The crust is really light and thinner than hand tossed. A little pricey without the deal. Overall- its ok for pizza, skip the knots.

I had been looking forward to this restaurant opening as I had a coupon to try their Garlic Knots for free, but everything about this place was disappointing. The cashiers didn't have a clue what they were doing and kept looking up at the giant menu on the wall to find what I was ordering. It took at least 30 minutes to get one pizza and an order of knots. The knots were very inconsistent in size and slathered in garlic to the point where my mouth was burning because there was so much on them. The pizza tasted fine except the bottom of the crust was burnt. I heard the same sob story that Tim H. wrote about in his review about the employees not getting the full training in Denver....blah blah blah. Let's hope the owner can get it together or this restaurant won't be lasting long in a town that is already over saturated with restaurant.

I have been here a number of times and have not been impressed. Given it's my own fault for returning to this establishment numerous times after not enjoying it, but for pure convenience I have. The pizzas have always been bland and the garlic knots have always been hard and hardly taste like garlic. I too love pizza and have it at least twice a week. If you're looking for a good pie, I would not recommend the Garlic Knot.
(1)m J.
Just had lunch at the Garlic knot. I had a calzone. The food was fresh and hot when delivered. The restaurant owner takes pride in his store. The restaurant was clean from the dinning room to the bathrooms. If your looking for a pizza with a lot of toppings, try the Garlic Knot's Madison square pizza, the neighbors order it ...it looked yummy!
(5)Brian P.
Excellent menu. Excellent food. Good service. We had the Combo Zone Calzone. We also had the Garlic Knots with Marinara Sauce as an appetizer. It was busy on New Years Eve. Several families and couples. Good atmosphere. We'll go there again.
(5)Kristin M.
The Garlic Knot here in Fort Collins is not only named after the pungent plant, but they use it liberally in everything. Maybe even too much. When you are eating garlic knots at The Garlic Knot, you are eating massive amounts of garlic. There should be no surprise about this. The garlic is so strong that it leaves an intense bitter taste on your palate. Some people love the taste of garlic so much that they wouldn't mind this level of intensity. I didn't think it was too bad; I've had much more extreme experiences. The Kindergartener thought it was "too spicy," but The Preschooler ate them up without complaints. My biggest issue wasn't necessarily the liberal use of garlic (which you can request to be left off when you order), but the tough, chewy, off-putting texture of the dough. That was actually pretty bad, so much that I considered them flat out unappealing. Unless you are a garlic fanatic, or trying to ward off vampires, I'd recommend you ask them to tone it down when dining at The Garlic Knot.

Best Gluten free Pizza I have ever had!! Excellent customer service!!
(5)Judi B.
We've ordered delivery here and have always been happy, so we decided to try them for lunch. Great service & love their knots. Tried a calzone & it was great. Lots of variety.
(5)Artie L.
We had this pizza when they first opened - so this is not so recent. We had a coupon for free pizza and garlic knots. The pizza was roughly close to a frozen one I could buy at King Soopers and the garlic knots we maybe ate 2 of. They had WAY too much garlic and were hard as a rock. The pizza was bland at best and never thought I wouldn't be able to taste pepperoni! I won't try them again cause nothing really screamed to give it a second chance.
(1)Raygina K.
The food has always been good, but we've noticed that the service has taken a serious cliff dive lately. I don't know what they decided to do differently with the wait staff but they seem unable to provide top notch service when there's less than 5 tables seated. From now on we'll be getting it for pick up. It's expensive enough without having to tip for bad service.

I was looking forward to the Garlic Knot opening ever since Mancino's shut down in the same location. I live in the neighborhood and the "walkable" food options are limited, especially since I'm not a fan of the Island Grill. I stopped in just a few days after opening; the owner was on hand and said they were doing a soft opening without much advertising. The employees were supposed to be trained in the Denver store but he only sent them for a few days since the 2-hour daily trip was a bit long. I think the employees needed more training - or maybe the Denver location is just as disappointing. I tried the lunch special, which was a slice, garlic knots and a drink for $5. The knots were hard yet chewy, like 2 day old pizza crust. They lived up to their name as they were absolutely slathered in garlic, to the point that they were unpleasant. I love having a meatball option on pizza and ordered it on my slice. Most places will add round slices of meatball, but this came out with "meatball crumbles" that looked more like ground beef than a meatball. The crust wasn't great, which was no big surprise after the garlic knots. Any pizza is good pizza, but this wasn't even up to the tastiness of Kroger frozen pizzas. I hope that it was opening-jitters for the Garlic Knot, but I'm fearful that Mancino's was replaced with a pizza joint that's just as bland and uninspired.
(2)Jon B.
Went there when they first opened and it's clear the kitchen wasn't up to the size of the crowd. Gave it another shot a couple weeks back and....ladies & gentlemen, we have a winner. I'm a native New Yorker which means, that a) I walk and talk too fast and b) I know what chicken parmagiana is supposed to taste like. And yes, the chicken parm at the Garlic Knot is really, really good. As good, in fact, as you're gonna find at any NYC italian joint. Not too mushy, covered with tangy sauce and just the right amount of bubbling brown cheese. I'll be back as often as my waistline allows.
(4)Matt T.
Just moved to town and started looking for a pizza place that delivers...a pal recommended the Garlic Knot. Sauce and cheese on my double pepperoni was good, yet the toppings for the double pepperoni was very light...about what you wold expect for a single pepperoni. Add to the fact there is a delivery fee and it means that I probably won't be ordering from them again.
(2)Carol W.
The Garlic Knot was disappointing...the waitress was friendly but food was very slow getting to us. People that came in after us got their food before we did and I was able to leave and go to drop something off and it still hadn't been served. Prices were a bit high but the calzone was good. The garlic knot was way too garlicky...Not sure I would go back.
(1)Phil M.
Went here on a limb. The place was cozy, service was ok; the waitresses couldn't decide who was serving us and we got forgotten for a bit, but not a deal breaker. We ordered the wings, a kids cheese pizza, and the pizza with pepperoni/sausage/meatballs. The wings were good and crisp, not like most wings around that are soggy and probably from frozen. Both pizzas were enjoyable and had good New York flavor; the crust was average and the pizza could be a little more crisp to make it authentic. Overall, this place was enjoyable. Being from upstate New York I'd say this pizza is pretty good, and not that far off I taste from the real thing. You could certainly do far worse at a lot of places in town.
(4)Cheri S.
I was so impressed by this establishment. We stopped in for lunch on a whim, and I am so glad we did! The service was exceptional, which you don't find often enough these days. The food was delicious - we ordered our own slices of pizza (which are huge) just the way we like them, garlic knots and drinks. When I asked if they knew where a certain neighborhood was located, they went out of their way to google it, print it, and hand it to me. THAT is customer service! I will be frequenting often.

Are you craving the lackluster feel and flavor of Sbarro's but delivered? Then look no further than the Garlic Knot. I called for delivery a couple of days ago and knew after repeating my order for an 18" pizza and garlic knots several times and from the sounds in the background I should have hung up and called Pizza Casbah instead. I was quoted a time of around 45 minutes which is understandable for a Friday night but my pie arrived after about 25 minutes. Awesome, I thought as I paid the delivery driver a kings ransom plus a healthy tip for the prompt delivery. I sat the box and the garlic knots I ordered down and that's when all disappointment broke loose. As the other review has noted, the garlic knots were completely inedible due to both the drenching in garlic "sauce" and because they had the texture of shoe leather. I spent two minutes matched in an all out battle of wills to eat the thing, but in the end it won and all of the knots I ordered went into the trash. Then I opened the pizza box. The owner of the Garlic knot is obviously a man with issues because there is no way that this pizza was 18 inches of anything. I was so sure that I actually busted out a tape measure and yup; this is their large 16 inch that they upcharged me two bucks for! Then there were the toppings; Honest to god it was like someone just grabbed random items that they had laying around and threw them on there. There was unordered sausage, a whole garlic clove, and what appeared to be the sorriest bunch of mushrooms I've ever seen on my magherita pizza (which is a cheese pizza with basil). At this point I tried to call them back but they'd already closed so I was stuck with it. So onto the flavor of the pizza! It was cold, damp, and yet still somehow burnt. I have no idea what's going on over there but it felt like I purchased an entire Sbarro's pizza. Burnt and crunchy on the bottom but completely flavorless, cold and utterly depressing. Occasionally I'd accidentally bite into a "treasure trove" of minced garlic and pray for death. Honestly, I think that the Garlic Knot would have to completely re-work time and space; in order to create a place where it would be possible to be open late enough that ordering their food might seem like a good idea. But no, they close at 10 pm. This is the worst pizza I've ever eaten from the sorriest pizza making establishment I've ever had stuff a flier under my door. Because I thought my problems just ended with me flushing my money away, but no! Apparently their pizza is so awful that I woke up the next morning feeling like Ke$ha does every morning - Hungover and disgusting.

Went there with a U9 girls soccer team and their families. They have a room adjacent and open to the main room that's perfect for groups, allowing for the overflow to still be connected to the main activities. At our table we had garlic knots, eggplant parmesan, spaghetti with sausage and the combo zone calzone. The eggplant wasn't our style but everything else was excellent. In fact the calzone was one of the best I've ever had. The staff is amazing. Alex and Carolyn waited on our table and made the night a total success. They brought a sense of fun, a love for being part of friends and family enjoying a meal together, and they handled every question, bump and spill professionally and with great humor. Our 8 year old told Alex that she loved the Garlic Knot and couldn't wait to come back. The rest of us agreed.
